How to do your Homework Effectively
Here are six tips to help you with your homework:
- Pick a time to do your homework - Finding time to do your homework, but it needs to get done. Figure out how long it takes you to normally do your homework and see where you can fit it into your daily life. If you have to move some things around or break doing your homework up in to two periods go ahead.
- Do your homework while it is fresh in your mind - The sooner you can do your homework the better. You can recall information quicker when you have just learned it. The repitition of what you learned by doing homework will help your remember it for your tests.
- Do your thinking on scratch paper - Work problems out on scratch paper first to keep your homework neat. If you have lots of things crossed out or eraser marks, it might be hard to read.
- Use what you have learned in class - Most homework that is assigned based on what you have learned in class or read in the text book.
- Don't do homework when you are tired - Doing work while you are tired or not focused can cause you to make mistakes. These mistakes can cause you to get a lower grade.
- Double check your work - Double checking your work will help you get a better grade. Go over your work 30 minutes to an hour after you have finished it. If you find something wrong or the does not make sense, check it and fix it.
